Version 3.00E16 - May 15th, 2008

  •  Device/Desktop: Update for FTM 2008 imports with the PAF/FTM add-on.   If you installed the add-on with 3.00E15, you only need to re-install the main Pocket Genealogist program for these changes:
    •  Citation Note field and Call Number field correctly imported.
    •   Child Relationship to parents now correctly imported.
    •  Tasks are now imported.

Outstanding FTM 2008 import issues:

  •  Spouses with no marriage event or children are not imported.
  •  Event and Name notes are not imported.
  •  Task Category/Location field not imported.
  •   Program terminates if you try two FTM 2008 imports back to back.

Version 3.00E15 - May 10th, 2008

Warning: Database Layout changes, all databases must be re-imported.

  •   Device/Desktop: Support for Legacy Version 7.   The "Customize" screen for direct Legacy Imports will now allow you to set an installation path for version 5, 6 and 7.  (You only need to supply values for those versions that you use)
  •  Device/Desktop: Support for TMG Version 7.01  (HVR3 field with mtDNA)
  •  Desktop: Support for FTM 2008 imports with the PAF/FTM add-on.   You will need to install the new add-on as well, contact me at Kevin@NorthernHillsSoftware.com if you have purchased the add-on and wish to try the new version.   Known issues (which are being worked on) include:
    •  The Citation Note field is incorrectly concatenated to the Call Number field.
    •  Spouses with no marriage event or children are not imported.
    •  Event and Name notes are not imported.
    •  Relationship to parents is not imported.
  •   Device: Support for 480x272 screen resolution devices.  (Widescreen GPS devices for example)
  •  Device: Support for 320x320 screen resolution devices.
  •   Device: Support for 176x220 smartphones (Windows Mobile 5 and higher)
  •  Device: Reworked the "Name" tab and added "Custom" name fields (AKA, Married Name, Phonetic Name, Romanized Name, etc.) in support of PAF, AQ, Progen and Family Historian.   "Nickname" added as separate field.
  •  Device/Desktop: Increased the allowable size of the UID field for the family record.
  •  Desktop: The installer will now warn user if database layout changes have occurred with the new install.
  •  Device: Increased the width of the drop down lists on the Name and Event tabs.
  •  Device: DNA screens completely reworked to add better support for AQ, TMG and Legacy including support for mtDNA.
  •  Device: "Find by" screens reworked for PocketPC's.
  •  Device: Relationship calculator changed to display list of individuals that are the ancestors/descendants between the two selected people.
  •  Desktop: Added new option on "Advanced" options screen - "Synchronize to location with most free space"... this is only applicable for initial sync of a database, re-syncs will not "move" the database.
  •  Desktop: The "Data Entry may be very slow for Storage Card" message now allows for "Don't show this prompt again".
  •  Desktop: Reworked the Create list and find list on the desktop.  (Added Version and Size columns, allow sorting by columns and double clicking to select among other changes)
  •   Device: Changed Find by dialog, Names tab and Individual View to use new "markers" to tell if the name is an AKA, Alias or Legacy Married name.  It used to use * on Primary names, now uses ~ for AKA's/Aliases and § for Married Name.
  •  Device: Added "Font" tab to configuration screen on device for non-touchscreen smartphones (same as other devices).

Version 3.00D13 - January 14th, 2008

  •  Support for Ancestral Quest Build 12 and higher.   (added Phonetic Name and Romanized Name as facts)   Fixed issue where source type list could be truncated on direct AQ imports.

Version 3.00D12 - January 6th, 2008

  •  Support for TMG v7
  •  Fix for 2-way Legacy Synchronizations.   (It could terminate the 2-way Sync under rare situations thinking that changes occurred both on the desktop and device)
  •  Added "Enable 2-way Synchronizations" to the Legacy "Customize" dialog.  (And removed it from the options dialog)  Next time you import, you will be prompted to go into the Customize dialog to update your selections. 
  • Added "Events" to the "Notes" section for the Legacy Customize dialog.  (This allows you to turn off importing of event notes if necessary)
  •  Removed support for "Direct" Legacy Version 4 imports.
  •  Fix to GEDCOM imports for PAF (When "Divorced" flag is set)
  •  Automatically try the "Use TCP/IP" option if synchronization fails.  (And turn it on automatically if it works)
  •  Updates for Norwegian, Portuguese and Swedish translations.
